United Healthcare (UHC) was chosen after careful review and consideration. Besides having one of the largest networks across the United States, they have a competitive cost structure and exceptional employee experience. UHC has a hands-on approach to assist our members with all their claims and insurance questions and innovative resources to help members make informed decisions and control their costs.
United Healthcare also maintains a large carrier brand recognition. The current Third-Party Administrator (TPA) for Legacy Forvis is not always recognized in the healthcare industry and therefore occasionally caused confusion for providers.
With over 1.7 million providers and nearly 6,000 hospitals in the United Healthcare (UHC) network, there is an excellent chance your preferred doctor or hospital will be in-network. Before choosing UHC, Forvis Mazars had an extensive disruption analysis done and more than 99% of current providers being used are also in-network with UHC. If your provider does not participate in the UHC network, there are thousands of providers to choose from. UHC’s portal can identify general and specialty doctors, along with hospitals, that are in their vast network. Our plan design also includes an out of network option should you choose to stay with a provider not in the UHC network.
No! If you are in treatment for a chronic condition at the time of transition, UHC will work with you to complete the care from your out-of-network provider through their Transition of Care program. Your treatment will not be interrupted due to the switch from Healthgram/Cigna to UHC.
